Palau to challenge global warming
[Brief translation]
Palau, the small nation with 200 or so islands in the South Pacific Ocean. People call them the "Emerald in the South Pacific Ocean" because of its beautiful and rich natural environment. This nation with only about 20,000 inhabitants has recently made a big decision, whereby the whole demand of electricity in the country would be covered by seawater power towards the year 2015. Yes, OTEC technology, which spews no global warming substances such as CO2, is the one they are going to deploy. This decision by a country who could be an immediate victim of rising of sea level due to global warming shall certainly throw a stone among developed countries, who do not always take same stand towards prevention of global warming.
