[Brief translation]
Power generation by using ocean energy is coming into practical use in the field of natural energy.
At first, Xenesys attempts to commercialize Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) centering on the Middle East. Xenesys adopts a highly-efficient thermal energy conversion system called “Uehara-cycle”, which is developed by Dr. Uehara, a former principal of Saga University.
Xenesys aims to commercialize OTEC in the near future after achieving good results with a low-cost system that uses industrial wastewater, which is warm enough to obtain temperature difference of over 15 degrees Celsius.
Xenesys also develops a seawater desalination system, which enables to use waste heat from the thermal energy conversion. As fresh water is more valuable than electricity in the Middle East countries, Xenesys plans to produce fresh water by using waste heat and electricity generated by waste heat.
