Spring Thermal Energy Converson(STEC) is exactly the same as that of the OTEC technology. Since (hot) spring water with 60-90°C temperature plays the main role, we named this system STEC. Exactly like an OTEC system, no fossil fuel is required; therefore, no greenhouse effect gases are to be spewed into the air.

With an exception of geothermal energy which has been widely utilized, the underground thermal energy like spring water has been labeled unfit for power generation purpose due to its poor energy density and been wasted unutilized. Our STEC with highly efficient Uehara Cycle has changed the whole situation and had made it feasible to generate power from spring water.
